Proceedings from the Environmental Soil Science Workshop held at the University of Missouri on November 7, 2002 are enclosed.

It is very important that the workshop be viewed as a start - not an end - toward developing an environmental soil science program at the University of Missouri that will engage collaboration on many fronts. In that regard, please send any comments or suggestions you desire be brought to the attention of the entire group. The dialogue must continue!

For those who review this report but were unable to attend, we invite your input. Refer to Appendix 4. Feel free to photocopy the appendix and then mark your three top priorities in each of the three categories. Send your responses to Linda Little at The School of Natural Resources, 302 ANBR Building, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri 65211 or fax to (573) 884-5133. We will collate and share with others.

The Soils Aggregate faculty met to review the draft proceedings. They plan to address the undergraduate education issues at a meeting in January 2003. they will re-engage the stakeholders as action ideas are generated.

We look forward to your suggestions and continued involvement.
